GUIDELINES for using the Firing Service

To ensure the best outcomes, we´ve established some rules that are binding for using the firing service. Please read them carefully beforehand to prevent unexpected costs:

  • We encourage you to inform us beforehand about the specific clay and glazes yor´re using by showcasing the labels of your materials, as not all materials are meant to be fired at the same temperatures. This helps us ensure compatibility with out firing temperatures.

  • Please ensure to mark your pieces with your name, initials, signature or logo.

  • Your pieces should be thoroughly dry with wall thickness not exceeding 3cm to prevent potential complications. The surface touching the kiln shelves must be free of glaze and maintain at least 0.5cm of clearance between the base and the glazed area, safeguarding both your artwork and our kiln. For running glazes and experiments, please maintain 1cm of clearance.

  • Please note that fired pieces are accommodated in our studio for a maximum of 3 months, after which they may be distributed or made available for sale.

  • While we always strive for exceptional results, it's important to understand that the studio cannot be held responsible for unexpected or unsatisfactory outcomes, such as cracks, explosions, glaze or clay-related issues, and so on.

  • We take great care in maintaining our equipment and trust that you'll do the same. In the event of any damage to the kiln, including shelves, kiln furniture, softbrick, controller, or heating elements during your usage, you will be responsible for covering the replacement costs. Using the firing service requires a private liability insurance.

  • It's worth noting that the firing costs encompass more than just electricity; they also account for labor, logistical work, kiln maintenance, and other associated expenses.
